Koala Cardigan

My mother sent me some wonderful old knitting patterns, amongst them was a pattern for a cardigan with koalas knitted on the front. Perfect for Olive, I went to the stash and found a selection Patons Bluebell perfect for the job. A purple cardigan, with brown koalas. I still have to complete the cardigan with the button bands and sewing up. When this one is completed I am knitting a smaller one for Lucy. Matching Koala cardigans for the sisters.

The Jonathan Scarf

My mother keeps telling me how much my BIL feels the cold and that he needs a scarf. I finally relented and went to the stash, found two balls of Patons Jet in a brown and knitted up a 22 stitches on 6mm needles in a 2 x 2 rib until the yarn ran out. It is in the post to BIL, I hope he likes it.

Baby, Baby, Baby....

A little all in one jacket recently knitted for our neighbours very long awaited baby girl Ruby.

A pattern from Cleckheaton's book 10 Handknits for Babies in 8 ply, I have knitted several of these for boys and girls and it is such a great pattern. This one is for my great nephew due at the end of July. Teddy bear buttons set it off.

Another one for my Great Nephew, this is the Pebble Manly Cobblestone Vest from Ravelry. I love the contrast of the orange buttons.

Meow Meow

My 5 year old nephew lost his beloved toy cat Meow Meow and after much searching it seems Meow Meow is not coming home. So I knitted a new Meow Meow for my favourite wee man. I had in my stash 150g of a wool mohair blend so with 4mm needles I knitted 2 squares for the body, 2 rectangles for ears, a tail and a base, sewed on some eyes, embroidered a nose and mouth and sent the new Meow Meow off on an adventure to his new home.

Cold sheep still continues

My decision to go cold sheep continues. I have been delving into my stash to knit since August last year.

My daughter's friend wanted a wrap knitted out of sock yarn, like the one I had recently knitted for my daughter. The yarn was from Spotlight in a purple, black and grey colour way. She chose the One Skein A Stole pattern from Ravelry.

My sister asked me to knit something stripey for her friends baby boy. So I went to the stash and found some Bendigo 5ply yarn in black and white. I used two balls of black and one of white, the buttons are old shirt buttons that were languishing in my button jar waiting for the right garment to come along. I didn't block it I just sewed it all together as I was in a hurry to finish it before I went away.' I hope it will sit better once it is washed.

In August last year I started knitting Amelie from the Patons Sugar Fairies book. The red one is a size 1-2 years and the blue is 3-4 years. Knitted for my granddaughters.

I put some lace around the neck lines and forgot to take photos of the completed jumpers.

Cold Sheep continues

I still haven't purchased any yarn, magazines or knitting by-products.
Nothing since August 2010.
And strangely I have no desire to purchase any........'
The best thing about going cold sheep is that it is fun to open up the many boxes of stash yarn and find a multitude of surprises.
It is also nice to be working my way through my stash.
