I purchased the latest copy of Yarn Magazine and loved the possum pouch by Melissa Deutsch Scott. So gorgeous. So I went through the stash and found some 5ply Heirloom Heatherwood in a brown which was perfect, so soft and just nice for the new baby expected in February. It was a quick knit, used approximately five balls of yarn. And I think it looks fabulous and will keep bubs warm during the cold and wet New Zealand winter. My only complaint was the instructions for the sleeves were not very clear but I modified the pattern to suit.
I decided to add a button to the outside; a kangaroo button because it is going to NZ and did the ties inside as suggested in the pattern. My only compliant is the button is a bit awkward due to the tail and the directions for the sleeves were unclear,but I soldiered on!
